Dear Parents,
Don't forget, tomorrow night at 6:30pm we are hosting representatives from Sans Souci Public School at Green Gables. The overwhelming majority of students from Green Gables transition to this wonderful local school each year - and as part of the local community we are committed to providing our families every opportunity to meet SSPS staff in a less formal environment, to discuss any matters close to your heart. It would be great if at least one parent of each child attending was able to attend; this is a great opportunity to take advantage of a small private setting to ask any questions. Please reply to confirm your attendance so we can confirm numbers for catering purposes. Many thanks The Green Gables Team

Dear Parents,
Please note that from July, the Thursday Shake 'N' Move classes will be replaced by Clamber Club on Fridays. All students will be automatically enrolled in the new class where applicable. You are receiving this email as your child currently attends the Thursday class, or you have asked us to enrol your child in the Friday class. The demonstration class and free trial classes during the last weeks of June were fantastic and the children really enjoyed them. We are thrilled to offer a different gross and fine motor skills program. Check out their website - http://www.clamberclub.com.au/ Fees are due by 27th July; please place $130 (13 classes @ $10 each) CASH in an envelope clearly marked with your child's name and 'Clamber Club' in the mail box at the sign-in counter. Don't hesitate to call with any questions. Kind regards Stew & Ari Leeder Dear Parents,
Mark your diaries now - Tuesday 24th July 6:30pm. In the third and final instalment of our 2012 information sessions with local schools, we will be welcoming senior staff from Sans Souci Public School to discuss School Readiness and learn more about this extremely popular local school. Each year, the overwhelming majority of students that graduate from Green Gables move on to Kindergarten at Sans Souci Public School. Don't miss this opportunity to meet key staff and ask any questions on your mind. Take a look at their website through this link - http://www.sanssouci-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/home This Monday 2nd July we welcome Dorothy to our team. Dorothy comes to us as a Trainee Child Care Worker and will be working full time in the Butterflies Room under the tutelage of Sapphire, Melissa and Ariane whilst also completing her Certificate III in Children's Services. Being a mother, Dorothy has personal experience caring children but our formal environment is something new that we're sure she will adjust to quickly.
When you meet Dorothy you will notice her maturity, friendly smile, naturally warm nature and her relaxed way of being. We regard these qualities as being very 'Green Gables' and are confident you will too. Her personal philosophy regarding children's education is very much aligned with our own so we're looking forward to working with her and teaching her. Those families that have been with us prior to the end last year will recall that we are usually staffed only by full time teachers and that this changed when three of our long term staff commenced maternity leave within mere weeks of each other. It is our goal to return to this structure while doing our best to accommodate our valued staff members returning from maternity leave. This has proven to be a challenge, but in keeping with our philosophy of maintaining consistency of staff we have made the decision to bring on Dorothy full time. This will reduce the need for casual staff, reinforce our permanent staff and provide another everyday face for your children. To allow this to occur, Kate will be transitioning to the Caterpillar Room to work with Tania. Kate will be dearly missed by the Butterfly children but be assured she is just through the window and still available for hugs and chats. Meanwhile, the Caterpillar room will return to having two permanent and fabulous full time staff with the added support of Nikki who has recently returned part-time from maternity leave. Amanda and Chelsea have been fantastic support over the past year; we have relied so heavily on them and words can't express our gratitude. We apologise for the late notice of these staffing changes but feel it best for the children and the Centre routines to implement them immediately. We have every confidence that our team of dedicated and professional staff will work hard to make the change almost unnoticeable for the children and ask for your support in doing this also. Should you have any comments or questions please contact us in the office. Regards, Stewart and Ariane Leeder |
